I was devastated seeing her in a hospital bed and felt helpless and lost. After only a few hours of being in the hospital the first person through that door was Lisa with a Scarlett’s Closet care bag. She came and sat with my daughter and prayed with her. it was the first real response we had seen from Elliana all day. There was not a single thing in that bag we did not use and I am so thankful that she came in that day. At that moment that small gesture made me feel like everything was going to be O.K

A Testimony of Brantley’s Battle

On December 12, 2016, my energetic 5-year-old grandson, Brantley, was diagnosed with Stage 3 High-Risk Neuroblastoma Cancer. We were rushed from Phenix City, AL, to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, where his treatment began immediately. The diagnosis was overwhelming, leaving us unprepared and searching for answers as we navigated countless tests, surgeries, and decisions.

During this challenging time, Lisa Fountain of Scarlett’s Closet stepped in without hesitation, providing essentials like travel assistance, gas cards, snacks, and heartfelt support. Her kindness brought much-needed relief and strength as she understood our struggles, having faced a similar journey with her daughter, Scarlett.

Lisa’s compassion touched us deeply, and her love basket, delivered during one of our trips home, brought tears of gratitude. She became a guide, prayer warrior, and friend during our darkest hours.

We are profoundly grateful to Lisa and Scarlett’s Closet for their generosity and support. Your love and kindness have truly been a blessing.

With heartfelt thanks,
Simi, Kari, Brantley, and Emory

David and Kristin Morton

Another beautiful testimony from the Mortons, a family dear to my heart. Two years ago, I prayed with their middle daughter as she received Christ, and later saw their whole family baptized. Faithful supporters of Scarlett’s Closet, they never imagined they’d one day need our help. Here’s their story:

On April 20, 2019, the day before Easter, life changed for the Mortons. Their 9-year-old daughter was riding a miniature ATV with her 3-year-old brother, David, in the backyard. A momentary distraction led to a crash. David was found unresponsive, with a head wound and bleeding that couldn’t be controlled. Fearing the worst, they called paramedics, who rushed David via life flight to CHOA in Atlanta.

As they arrived, overwhelmed and unprepared, they were greeted by Janine, a friend from Scarlett’s Closet. She brought bags filled with essentials and hope. For the next week in the hospital, Scarlett’s Closet provided not only supplies but also the strength and faith the Mortons needed.

By God’s grace, David is expected to make a full recovery, with no internal injuries or brain damage. The accident left scars, but also a renewed understanding of God’s protection and faithfulness. Scarlett’s Closet became a beacon of God’s love during their most trying time, for which the Mortons are forever grateful.

Shakana Borders Testimony

After my son was admitted to the PICU at Egleston Children’s Hospital, I went to the break room for coffee and encountered a fellow parent who asked if I had received my bag. When I said no, she handed me one from under the desk. As I looked inside, I was deeply touched—it contained essentials like toothpaste, a notebook, and a Bible, along with a note featuring Psalm 46:1 and information about Scarlett’s Closet. The gesture meant so much to me, and I felt God urging me to learn more and thank the person behind it.

Finding Scarlett’s Closet on Facebook, I discovered it was Scarlett’s birthday and learned about Mrs. Lisa Fountain, the ministry’s founder. I commented on how the bag had blessed me during a difficult time as my son was suffering from seizures. Mrs. Lisa shared her story, telling me about her granddaughter Scarlett, who passed away on May 13, 2011—the same date my son was born in 2016. We both felt this connection was no coincidence, but God’s way of showing His presence and love during our struggles.

Psalm 46:1—“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble”—became a source of reflection and hope for me. The bag was a reminder that God hears our prayers and walks with us through life’s trials. Knowing Ms. Lisa prays over every bag made me feel seen and cared for. It renewed my faith during a time of deep discouragement, reminding me that God had not forgotten me.
